Outi Kaarina Laiti
Dr. Outi Kaarina Laiti is a Sámi game researcher and designer at the University of Helsinki, Finland. She focuses on the intersection of engineering, education, computer science, and Indigenous studies. Her work examines Indigenous game development, Sámi-led design practices and the role of games in innovation and Indigenous Futurisms. She is interested in community-based approaches to game making and decolonial approaches to the game industry. She is a co‑founder of the Saami Game Jam and the curator of the Digital Natives? Sámi Games Now exhibition, presented as part of Helsinki Design Week 2024 and at the Sámi Museum Siida in 2026.
