Understanding the worlds behind Deatnu River fisheries regulation
Our researcher Jarno Valkonen will take part at an event organised as part of the University of Lapland Alumni Days on 24 September. His presentation will explore the findings of the Deatnu project and their implications for salmon governance in the River Teno.

MultiBEING researcher, professor Jarno Valkonen (University of Lapland) will participate in the Science and Art Pitch Event organised as part of the University of Lapland Alumni Days on Thursday, 24 September.
In his presentation, Valkonen will introduce the Sustainable Naturecultures (SuMu) research community and the MultiBEING Centre of Excellence through the findings of the Deatnu project. The talk will offer perspectives on the power relations and understandings of the world that shape the regulation of fishing in the River Teno (Deatnu).
The event will be moderated by Sari Lindblom, Vice Rector for Research at the University of Lapland. The event will also feature presentations by the University’s two other flagship research communities.
Following the presentations, participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussion with the researchers.
