MultiBEING contribution in The Indigenous Nation Building Glossary

A contribution by our researcher Saara Alakorva has been included in a new open-access volume that brings together international scholars and practitioners to examine key concepts in Indigenous self-determination, governance and nation building.

Our researcher Saara Alakorva (University of Lapland) has contributed to the newly published volume The Indigenous Nation Building Glossary, an open-access publication by Bloomsbury Academic, edited by Daryle Rigney, Anthea Compton, Stephen Cornell and Simone Bignall.

The glossary offers a comprehensive introduction to the concepts, approaches and practices that shape Indigenous nation-building research and governance across different parts of the world.

Bringing together an international and interdisciplinary group of contributors, the volume contains more than one hundred extended glossary entries. In addition to defining key concepts, the entries provide examples, cross-references and suggestions for further reading, supporting the development of a shared language among Indigenous communities, researchers, policymakers and practitioners.

The Indigenous Nation Building Glossary is the first publication in the new Indigenous Self-Rule series, co-edited by leading Indigenous scholars Larissa Behrendt, Daryle Rigney and Linda Tuhiwai Smith. The series explores Indigenous governance, self-government and nation building, with particular attention to Indigenous experiences in Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, North America, Palestine and the Sámi homelands.

The open-access volume is available through Bloomsbury Collections, ensuring broad accessibility for researchers, students, policymakers and Indigenous communities worldwide.
