Call for papers: Two MultiBEING sessions at the ISAR-9 in Japan
Our researchers Victoria Peemot, Nicola Renzi and Mikko Äijälä are organising special sessions at the 9th International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-9) in Hokkaido, Japan, on 16–20 April 2027.

Call for papers
Our researchers Victoria Peemot, Nicola Renzi (University of Helsinki) and Mikko Äijälä (University of Lapland) are organising special sessions at the 9th International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-9), to be held in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan, on 16–20 April 2027. The Arctic Science Summit Week precedes ISAR-9 at the same venue on 11–15 April 2027.
We invite individual paper submissions for the following sessions:
S27: Technologies as Intermediaries in Human-Dog Relations in the Arctic and North Asia | Conveners: Mikko Äijälä and Victoria Peemot
S28: Voicing the Crisis: More-than-human Acoustemologies in the Circumpolar North | Conveners: Nicola Renzi and Victoria Peemot
The submission deadline is 16 October 2026.

2. Download the abstract template.
3. Complete your abstract.
4. Submit your abstract and select the relevant special session from the drop-down menu.
