
Cintia Cruz
Cintia Cruz is a PhD Researcher in Indigenous Studies at the University of Helsinki, Finland. Her research examines how Indigenous Food Systems are represented within Brazilian and international food and sustainability policy frameworks. It focuses on the institutional inclusion of Indigenous knowledge across governance structures, with attention to food sovereignty, sustainability, and Indigenous rights, using decolonial and relational approaches to identify pathways towards more plural food governance. She holds an interdisciplinary background in Social Communication, the History of Food, and Human Nutrition and Food-Related Behaviour. Her work draws on Indigenous epistemologies, political ontology, and critical policy studies, with broader research interests in policy coherence, relational ethics, and the transformation of global food systems.
