Leena Hansen
Dr. Leena Hansen (formerly Heinämäki) is a legal scholar (L.L.D), university researcher at the University of Lapland, visiting senior researcher at the Arctic Centre, and Adjunct Professor in Indigenous peoples’ rights at the University of Lapland, Finland. She is a leading expert in international Indigenous and Sámi law, a board member of the Nordic Sámi Law Research Network, and an advisor to the Ministry of Environment’s CBD article 8(j) working group. She has extensive experience in Sámi rights projects for several Government agencies, in close cooperation with the Sámi Parliament and Sámi communities.
