Participation in roundtable on Sámi cultural heritage in Inari
MultiBEING researchers contribute to a roundtable on Sámi cultural heritage, focusing on the repatriation and rematriation of traditional knowledge.

Researchers from the MultiBEING community are taking part in a roundtable workshop on Sámi cultural heritage, highlighting questions related to the repatriation and rematriation of traditional knowledge. The event brings together researchers and practitioners to engage with legal, cultural and ethical dimensions of safeguarding Sámi cultural heritage.
As part of the programme, Leena Hansen (University of Lapland) presents her research report: International Legal Framework for Safeguarding Sámi Cultural Heritage: Toward a Holistic Intergenerational Indigenous Rights-Based Approach (2026). Jelena Porsanger (RiddoDuottar Museum & University of Helsinki), offers a commentary presentation on the workshop themes.
